Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in kitchen steward or similar role preferred
- Ability to work varying shift days, starting times, and hours
- Physical ability to push, pull, grasp, lift or carry goods up to 100 lbs
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment such as knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, talk, hear, see, and smile constantly
- Commitment to follow safety and security procedures
- Willingness to maintain a neat and clean appearance
- Food handler certification
- Ability to work under operational demands of a 24/7 hotel environment
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current food handler card
- Knowledge of and how to maintain service ware to complement guest experience
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen dishwash machine according to hotel and health department standards
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions for safe application of products and processes
- Physical strength and stamina to meet high activity level demands
Job Duties
- Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for dish or pot machine
- Quickly wash all ware and replace in designated storage areas
- Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
- Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely
- Perform general and routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- Clean and dry floors to avoid slip or fall accidents
- Separate linen from other debris
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Follow safety and security procedures and rules
- Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
- Utilize protective equipment
- Report unsafe conditions to management
- Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
- Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per team member handbook
- Perform any related duties as requested by management
- Assist other kitchen personnel when needed
