Job Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans using dishwashing machine or by hand according to food safety codes
- Polish all silverware, platters and chafing dishes
- Collect trash from kitchen areas, empty garbage cans and re-line with new bags, break down boxes and remove debris
- Examine garbage for misplaced reusable items
- Wash and polish all stainless steel kitchen equipment including shelves, cabinets, ice machines, coffee area, refrigerators and walk-ins
- Wash and clean receiving, trash and other kitchen-related areas
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors
- Store all dishes and wares in proper areas
- Clean dish machine and dish area according to schedule
- Assist in food preparation, storing foods after delivery and cleaning coolers, freezers, and storerooms
- Maintain inventories of soap, chemicals and paper towels
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- Handle china and glassware carefully to minimize breakage
- Continuously inspect kitchen floors to assure cleanliness and safety
- Assist in completing weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance list
- Clean and safely store all cleaning equipment
- Use chemical cleaning supplies safely
- Help food servers by prioritizing washing of specified service items
- Follow proper sanitation practices including personal hygiene
- Attend departmental staff meetings
- Perform additional tasks assigned by Executive Steward
