Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to sanitation standards
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene

Job Duties

  • Cleans pots, pans, and dishes following prescribed procedures found in company policy and procedure for kitchen sanitation
  • assists cooks in preparation of breakfast, lunch, or dinner meals
  • prepares dishwasher machine for next dishwashing period
  • records wash, rinse, and sanitize levels on the dish machine temperature log sheet
  • handles all foods, storage, and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory procedures
  • completes all cleaning duties on daily, weekly or monthly cleaning schedules
  • removes all garbage from the kitchen and dish room
  • mops the dish-room and kitchen floors twice daily and as needed
  • follows all closing procedures as outlined in company policies and procedures as the last employee leaving the kitchen at the end of the shift
  • assists with other duties including prep work, hot or cold line assistance, food storage, and dating and labeling
