Job Requirements
- None
- preferred high school graduate or equivalent
- preferred 1 year of related experience
- required ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
- ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning and transport
- compliance with all sanitary and safety regulations

- ability to operate cleaning and sanitation equipment

Job Duties
- Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine according to food safety standards
- cleans and sanitizes dishes
- collects soiled items from cafeteria/lounge/nursing units
- operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment
- sweeps and mops all areas of the department
- collects and disposes of trash
- transports food to other areas as needed
- transports carts to and from other units while respecting hospital property
- utilizes equipment and chemicals safely
- monitors, corrects, and logs sanitation control
- reports equipment malfunctions/concerns
- adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
- utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- maintains safe environment
- addresses patient population-specific needs
- participates in performance improvement activities
