Job Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • one year job related experience preferred
  • ability to operate dish machines and maintain sanitation logs
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to perform janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning kitchen equipment
  • compliance with occupational health and safety programs
  • ability to follow safety protocols including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout
  • willingness to perform duties in dining services when assigned
  • ability to attend regular team meetings and complete required training
  • pass drug screening and health-related tests as required by Sunrise policies

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • one year job related experience preferred
  • CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate may be required
  • ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple priorities
  • good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Set-up and maintain the dish and pot washing areas
  • operate dish machine(s) according to manufacturer instruction
  • perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
  • maintain accurate dish machine and pot and pan sink temperature and sanitation logs and report any issues promptly
  • complete assigned kitchen cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
  • clean assigned kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods and ventilation screens
  • perform assigned janitorial duties including sweeping work areas, mopping floors, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
  • assist with food preparation and plating when necessary
  • maintain correct storage of all cookware, china, glassware, and utensils
  • maintain correct storage of all janitorial and chemical supplies
  • assist in receiving, storage, dating, labeling, and rotation of food and non-food supplies
  • comply with occupational health and safety and Risk Management programs and policies, adhere to safety rules including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • clean and maintain dining room and bistro per company guidelines
  • bus and reset tables
  • take and deliver food orders in a timely manner
  • prepare and serve light meals in accordance with standardized recipes and menus
  • participate and commit to working toward team goals
  • demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
  • contribute to engagement programs for residents and team members
  • attend regular meetings including Town Hall, Department Team, and Cross Over meetings as directed
  • maintain compliance in assigned training required by authorities
  • perform other duties as assigned
