Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Clean and dry garbage cans as needed and at the end of each meal service
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Prepare and package individual place settings
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • Sweep and scrub floors
  • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies
  • Receive and store supplies according to establish control procedures
  • Set up banquet tables as needed
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
  • Receive, store, clean, and prepare for pick-up dish, glassware, flatware, and related rentals
  • Provide information regarding dishwashers needs (supplies, schedules, etc.) to the Chef, supervisors, co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
