Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or similar role preferred
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to stand for long periods
  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment
  • Ability to bend, lift and reach repeatedly for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repeated actions for extended periods
  • Willingness to handle all products carried in the store
  • Compliance with health and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Assist customers with questions in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
  • Offer samples and suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products
  • Assist with special orders, product requests and returns
  • Give input to manager on product performance and customer feedback
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of produce and products
  • Wash all dishes in an efficient manner while ensuring optimal cleanliness and adherence to health department standards
  • Maintain plates, containers, utensils and napkins for hot bar and salad bar
  • Complete assigned prep lists and light food preparation
  • Maintain coffee station by grinding coffee, stocking cups, lids, cream, sugar, etc.
  • Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures
  • Remove trash and cardboard promptly
  • Complete kitchen maintenance and assigned cleaning tasks
  • Inform kitchen of low quantities or sold-out product
  • Help package and label food for pre-pack cases
  • Carry out established closing procedures
  • Attend department meetings, storewide meetings and trainings
  • Perform other tasks assigned by PFD Manager and/or PFD supervisors
