Job Duties

  • Prepare all tableware for washing including scraping plates and pre-soaking silverware
  • Set up dishwashing machine ensuring drains are closed, tanks filled, temperatures correct, and detergents at proper levels
  • Wash dishes and properly stack and store china, glassware, and flatware
  • Thoroughly clean dishwashing equipment and working areas
  • Wash pots and pans including pre-soaking and rinsing in sanitizing solutions or hot water
  • Dispose of waste according to management prescription
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors and heavily soiled areas
  • Salvage unused items such as butter, preserves, syrups, and creamers
  • Ensure proper handling of dishes and glassware to minimize breakage
  • Assist in putting away delivery orders
  • Report maintenance issues as needed
  • Assist in catering or banquet work when required
  • Assist in food preparation such as chopping vegetables and making salads and soups
  • Assist in bussing tables during busy times
