Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to understand and follow safety protocols
- willingness to receive a hepatitis A vaccine if working in specified location
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and continuous movement
- strong attention to detail
- good communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred
- ability to read and understand work instructions and assignments
- must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members
- must have or be willing to receive a hepatitis A vaccine if working inside St. Louis County
Job Duties
- Set up or break down dishwashing area
- sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils
- place rinsed items in racks to send through dishwashing machine
- wash pots, pans and trays by hand
- sort and stack clean dishes
- allow dishes and other items to dry in accordance with the department's established practice and procedure
- carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
- rewash soiled dishes before delivering
- change dishwater in dishwashing machine and/or sinks as instructed
- notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- clean dish machine as instructed
- remove trash and garbage to dumpster
- clean and roll/unroll mats
- fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- sweep/mop floors
- sweep up trash as instructed
- conduct general cleaning as directed
- wipe up any spills to ensure safety
- deep cleaning as assigned
