Job Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items
- ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards
- sort and organize cleaned dishes and utensils in designated storage areas
- ensure proper storage practices to maintain a well-organized and efficient kitchen
- collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff to maintain a smooth workflow
- communicate effectively with chefs and servers to manage the flow of dirty and clean dishes
- support kitchen staff by keeping work areas clean and sanitized
- empty trash bins regularly and dispose of waste following proper procedures
- keep dishwashing equipment clean and well-maintained
- report any issues with equipment functionality to the manager
- follow proper safety and sanitation guidelines, including the use of protective equipment
- report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
- work efficiently to handle a high volume of dishes during busy periods
- manage time effectively to ensure a constant supply of clean dishes for kitchen operations
- assist in other kitchen tasks as needed during peak hours or when required
- be willing to take on additional responsibilities to support the overall functioning of the restaurant
