Job Requirements
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Available to work shifts on nights weekends and holidays
- Able to work in a hot wet humid and loud environment for long periods of time
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 5 hours
- Able to lift reach bend and stoop
- Able to safely lift bags cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Basic understanding of sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job
Job Duties
- Promote work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of The Surry Seafood Company
- Wash dishes glassware flatware pots or pans using a dishwasher or by hand
- Keep dishwasher clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to the Restaurant Manager
- Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- Use test strips to ensure chemicals are correct
- Maintain kitchen work areas equipment or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Place clean dishes utensils or cooking equipment in storage areas
