Job Requirements
- Score of 90% or better on all health department inspections
- score of 90% or better on all mystery shopper reports
- follow all dress code requirements for kitchen position including chef shirt, black pants or approved chef pants, apron, WS hat or hair net, black non skid shoes
- no piercings in kitchen
- beard guards if necessary
- no cell phone use unless on break
- obtain and maintain Nueces County Food Handler's Permit
- be at least 16 years old with certain duties requiring minimum age of 18
- ability to work AM/PM shifts as specified by management
- able to speak, understand, read and write in English (except dishwashers where preferred but not required)
- hair above collar length
- conscientious in preparing food and double-checking tickets for accuracy
- ability to work in excessive heat and smoke
- physical capability to stand and lift up to 75 pounds unassisted
- ability to follow all company policies including confidentiality and operational standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow detailed recipe instructions
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to work in a team environment
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
Job Duties
- Bring food issues to kitchen manager attention to bring to weekly meetings
- meet or exceed "Water Street Way" standards for cleanliness, product quality and guest satisfaction
- provide quality prep by adhering to all recipe standards
- assist in training of all kitchen positions following the kitchen training manual
- implement all systems and forms for kitchen stations
- follow all pars designed for kitchen stations
- stand on hard surfaces for shifts up to 10 hours
