Job Requirements
- Candidates must have kitchen assistant experience in a long-term care environment
- Must be able to work the evening shift from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Must be available for rotating weekends
- Ability to perform cleaning and food preparation duties according to safety and hygiene standards
- Must be able to complete administrative paperwork as required
- Ability to adhere to dietary restrictions and prepare therapeutic meals
- Must be able to work in person at the Irving, Texas location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous kitchen assistant experience in a long-term care environment
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
- Ability to follow established food procedures and portion control guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills to complete required reports and forms
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of the Head Cook and Dietary Services Manager
Job Duties
- Clean and prepare kitchen area and dishes
- Assist cooks in preparation and delivery of meals
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Dietary Services Manager
- Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Assist in preparation of meals in accordance with planned menus
- Assist in preparation and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- Assist in preparing food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus
