Job Requirements

Candidates must have kitchen assistant experience in a long-term care environment
Must be able to work the evening shift from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Must be available for rotating weekends
Ability to perform cleaning and food preparation duties according to safety and hygiene standards
Must be able to complete administrative paperwork as required
Ability to adhere to dietary restrictions and prepare therapeutic meals
Must be able to work in person at the Irving, Texas location

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous kitchen assistant experience in a long-term care environment
Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
Ability to follow established food procedures and portion control guidelines
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication skills to complete required reports and forms
Ability to work effectively under the supervision of the Head Cook and Dietary Services Manager

Job Duties

Clean and prepare kitchen area and dishes
Assist cooks in preparation and delivery of meals
Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Dietary Services Manager
Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
Assist in preparation of meals in accordance with planned menus
Assist in preparation and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
Assist in preparing food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus
