Job Requirements
- US citizen
- Current state license
- National Registry Emergency Technician certification
- Live near a major airport
- Be able to respond to site within 72 hours
- Clear a child neglect and abuse check and other background requirements
- Work normally performed in austere conditions
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted paramedic license from US state or territory
- National Registry EMT-P certification
- Minimum of two years paramedic experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Job Duties
- Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work
- Proactively and independently administer basic care, including catheter insertion with blood specimen collection, urine collection, EKGs, visual acuity testing, basic wound care, changing bandages, or administering intravenous medications
- Assess and document patient's vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, and prescribed medications
- Establish observable and documentable interventions within protocols
- Report all changes in patient's conditions to the medical provider
- Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living as needed
- Provide support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions
- Maintain supply inventory by checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies
- Restock clinical and provider areas once supplies are received
- Cross-train to work within clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units
- Participate in on-call rotation schedules as needed
