Job Requirements
- US citizen
- Current State license
- National Registry Emergency Technician certification
- Live near a major airport
- Be able to respond to site within 72 hours
- Clear a Child Neglect and Abuse Check and other background requirements
- Work is normally performed in austere conditions
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods
- Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Paramedic license from US State or Territory
- National Registry EMT-P certification
- Minimum of two years of paramedic experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Job Duties
- Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work
- Proactively and independently administer basic care including catheter insertion, blood specimen collection, urine collection, EKGs, visual acuity, basic wound care, changing bandages, and administering intravenous medications
- Assess and document patient vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, and prescribed medications
- Establish observable and documentable interventions within protocols
- Report all changes in patient's conditions to the medical provider
- Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living as needed
- Provide support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions
- Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipate needed supplies
- Restock clinical and provider areas once supplies are received
- Crosstrain to work within clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units
- Participate in on-call rotation schedule as needed
