Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum three years of relevant experience
  • ability to work Monday through Saturday and evenings Monday through Friday
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • capacity to develop and manage budgets
  • experience in staff and volunteer supervision
  • commitment to safety and program quality
  • proficient in developing member engagement strategies
  • ability to handle emergency situations effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation or sports management, or equivalent experience
  • minimum three years of experience in related field
  • experience in budgeting, fiscal management, financial development, health and well-being management, and staff and volunteer management
  • experienced in successful supervision of staff and volunteers
  • excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members
  • ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Create an environment that fosters the safety of members and staff through active supervision and by role modeling safe behaviors
  • complete all required safety audits and safety drills including action plans and follow-up as needed
  • develop and ensure branch operations have implemented and are following all policies, procedures, program standards, leading practices and contractual requirements
  • ensure the delivery of a high-quality program for participants
  • staff and volunteers have the necessary resources and supplies to deliver an exceptional program
  • develop and ensure all sports programs use a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters the development of the whole child and achieves the five cause measurement goals
  • oversee current and new program development with a commitment to excellence in all programming
  • develop and direct high quality member engagement strategies by actively engaging and building relationships with participants, members and volunteers
  • oversee the recruiting, hiring and onboarding of staff and volunteers
  • use a variety of methods to support staff's professional development including attending meetings, completing required trainings and ensuring the employee possess the appropriate competencies and abilities as required by the position and job description
