Job Requirements

  • 7 years of station experience with proven skills in passenger service and stations operations, which may include: cargo handling, ground operations (to include weight and balance, deicing, etc.), personnel administration, scheduling shift work and budget controls
  • 4 years of leadership experience with at least two of those years directly leading people
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of a degree
  • Outstanding communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills, with a demonstrated commitment to clear and transparent communication
  • Unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety and security compliance
  • Proven ability to motivate employees to improve and enhance group dynamics as well as tactfully communicating with others to constructively resolve issues
  • Ability to travel for business as needed, up to 60% of the time
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum age of 18

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of a degree
  • 7 years of station experience with passenger service and station operations including cargo handling, ground operations, personnel administration, scheduling, and budget controls
  • 4 years of leadership experience including at least two years directly leading people
  • Outstanding verbal, written and listening communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety and security compliance
  • Proven ability to motivate employees and resolve issues constructively
  • Ability to travel for business up to 60% of the time
  • Knowledge of TSA and FAA regulations and Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines policies and procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of Sabre/Image preferred

Job Duties

  • Establish strategic goals and implement operational plans to ensure stations in the region meet performance objectives and compliance guidelines
  • Shape culture of the team through action, presence and reinforcement of behaviors to build and maintain a culture of safety and compliance at all levels of the Station Operations group within the region, with a strong commitment to our "Ready, Safe, Go" culture
  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and mentors managers and supervisors in the region to facilitate a culture of belonging, succession planning and career progression
  • Establish and ensure effective communication with frontline and field supervisory staff that builds alignment around continuous improvement and attainment of strategic goals
  • Develop the annual regional budget and ensure it aligns with divisional and organizational goals and objectives
  • drive annual budget adherence
  • Partner with and act as a liaison between all stations within the region and other appropriate stations or departments to ensure support services are provided
  • Represent Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines at various community and airport meetings as needed
  • Anticipate equipment, technology, and facility planning needs to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity and financial performance within the region
  • Coordinate and assist with the interview and hiring process for new management positions for all stations in the region
