Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Experience in healthcare, hospital, or hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of patient safety and observation protocols
- Ability to manage budgets and labor productivity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Flexibility to work full-time Monday through Friday schedule
Job Qualifications
- Management experience at director, assistant director, or operations manager level
- Previous hospital patient transportation experience
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
- General business acumen
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service experience with a positive attitude
- Ability to plan, organize, and achieve effective time management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
Job Duties
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all patient observation functions
- Plan, organize, and direct all departmental activities
- Lead, train, and develop supervisors and frontline observation staff
- Coordinate closely with nursing, behavioral health, and support departments
- Oversee accuracy and timeliness of documentation, communication, and patient behavior reporting
- Maintain financial accountability and manage departmental budgets
- Analyze and act on performance metrics and operational trends
- Ensure compliance with hospital, federal, state, and regulatory standards including JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC
- Build and sustain strong relationships with hospital leadership and clinical partners
- Manage add-on or adjacent services such as patient safety attendants, lift assistance, courier, valet, or shuttle operations
- Promote a departmental culture rooted in accountability, empathy, and service excellence
