Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years experience in event management or related fields
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex organizational settings
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to walk facility grounds and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, event management, or related field
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale events and multi-use venues
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with strategic planning and policy development
  • Ability to build and maintain community partnerships
  • Familiarity with government or public sector operations preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Advise Ada County Board of Commissioners on operational priorities
  • Serve as public-facing representative in media and public forums
  • Ensure successful partnerships with property leases
  • Maintain communication with county departments
  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations and event planning
  • Manage production of the Western Idaho Fair
  • Negotiate and facilitate year-round event bookings
  • Conduct studies and audits for facility needs
  • Collaborate with Boise Professional Soccer representatives
  • Manage enterprise fund with no tax support
  • Develop and administer annual budget
  • Generate revenue through strategic bookings and sponsorships
  • Lead financial planning and contract administration
  • Monitor budget and expenditures
  • Lead and develop diverse team of staff
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture
  • Set goals and performance metrics
  • Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of personnel
  • Strengthen community partnerships
  • Oversee marketing, branding, and public communication
  • Identify revenue opportunities
  • Foster relationships with sponsors and vendors
  • Compile and review reports
  • Oversee maintenance of department records
  • Perform related duties as required
