Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain or completion of State approved Activity Director Certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Clear background check as required by government regulations
  • Negative TB test results
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Email, etc.) and office equipment
  • Professional demeanor and positive image adherence
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance as required
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 lbs, and prolonged computer work

Job Qualifications

  • Certification in recreational activity leadership such as APNCC or NAAPCC or similar
  • Prior related work experience in senior living or similar environments
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is preferable
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software including Publisher and Photoshop
  • Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, gerontology, music, art, or related field is desirable
  • Understanding and compliance with residents' rights and related regulations

Job Duties

  • Create and implement resident activities programs according to preferences and standards
  • Submit monthly calendars and newsletters for residents, staff, and families
  • Manage the community's social media under company guidelines
  • Coordinate planning and execution of special events and functions
  • Conduct surveys and facilitate resident activity planning committees
  • Oversee transportation scheduling, safety, and compliance for resident outings
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate department staff and volunteers
  • Manage budget spending and track goals
  • Collaborate with health services to ensure integration of caregiver involvement
  • Aid in community marketing through positive interactions
  • Monitor resident care needs and information collection
