Job Requirements

  • Experience managing budgets including venue-generating spaces and reserve funds

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or relevant field required
  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, MBA, or hospitality management preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in student union management, auxiliary services, large-scale event operations or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex vendor contracts and budgets
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience collaborating across cross-divisional boundaries
  • Proven track record in facility and event operations management

Job Duties

  • Lead the operations for the Cohon Center and Highmark Center, ensuring seamless integration of recreation, health, and student life programming
  • Oversee scheduling and technical logistics of spaces, managing competing interests between academic lectures, corporate partnerships, and student-led events
  • Develop and enforce safety, security, and risk management protocols across all facilities
  • Provide oversight for annual department budget, operating reserve, and long-term capital and audiovisual budgets
  • Serve as the primary university liaison for contracted services and vendors
  • Monitor service-level agreements to maintain facility standards
  • Partner with facilities and planning departments on upgrades, space allocation, and infrastructure improvements
  • Supervise a team of professional staff and over 100 student employees
  • Foster professional development and leadership skills among student staff
  • Design and curate inclusive spaces promoting mental wellness and social connection
  • Ensure a world-class visitor experience for prospective families, alumni, and scholars
  • Facilitate campus engagement by supporting student organizations and traditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
