Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in convention center management or hospitality sales
- Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory experience at department director level
- Proven track record of success in sales and revenue management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting software
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Analytical mindset with reporting capabilities
- Familiarity with hospitality and destination marketing sectors
- Ability to collaborate effectively with external partners and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel and attend industry-related events

Job Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in convention center management or hospitality sales with 2 years of direct supervisory experience at director level
- Bachelor’s degree in public assembly facility management, hospitality management, business administration, or related field
- Proven success in convention, meetings, and events sales including bidding and securing large-scale events
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a sales team including managing performance and professional development
- Strong knowledge of destination marketing, hospitality sales pipelines, and citywide booking processes
- Experience collaborating with CVBs, hotel partners, tourism boards, and stakeholders
- Skilled in developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans with KPIs
- Strong contract negotiation, pricing model, rate strategy, and revenue optimization skills
- Experience managing key client relationships and business development strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with ability to evaluate market conditions
- Proficient in CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and MS Office Suite
- Experience with venue management systems preferred
- Ability to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and maintain fiscal discipline
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and relationship-building ability
- Ability to balance short-term sales priorities with long-term strategic goals

Job Duties
- Work with the General Manager to direct all sales initiatives for the Arvest Convention Center
- Oversee sales calendar reporting for all conventions, meetings, tradeshows, and event bookings
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales strategies and marketing plans to promote and sell ACC for targeted markets
- Communicate with sales leaders of OVG hospitality and other partners to understand and align sales strategies
- Supervise, advise, support, guide and direct the facility's short-term sales team and monitor performance
- Direct, implement, and oversee sales efforts including bidding conventions, meetings, tradeshows, and events
- Develop and implement short-term sales plan and strategy, including sales goals and objectives
- Collaborate with Tulsa CVB to coordinate long-term business efforts
- Negotiate contract terms with clients subject to General Manager's approval
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and negotiate terms
- Administer booking-related issues and business policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners
- Facilitate site visits and appointments with event managers and planners
- Prepare annual sales and marketing plan with General Manager
- Monitor market conditions and maintain strategic planning
- Manage sales efforts to maximize venue occupancy
- Administer design and production of collateral materials
- Update Event Planning Guides and ensure efficient communication between facility and partners
- Prepare monthly reports documenting sales activities
- Work cooperatively with hotel and hospitality community to enhance venue position
- Develop and update pricing and sales materials
- Report significant future sales activity and cancellations to General Manager and Director of Finance
- Develop and implement annual expense budget for sales department
- Manage sales activity efforts and individual sales manager goals
- Collaborate on sales strategy, messaging, content and social media
- Maintain regular communication with business and professional groups
- Conduct outside sales calls
- Develop and maintain industry relationships
- Attend sales and industry events
- Streamline sales processes and business development
- Develop and maintain industry best practices, policies, and procedures
