Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public assembly facility management, hospitality management, business administration or related field
- 5-7+ years of progressively responsible experience in convention center management or hospitality sales
- Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory experience at the department director level
- Proven success in sales of conventions, meetings, and large-scale events
- Strong knowledge of destination marketing and citywide booking processes
- Experience collaborating with CVBs, hotel partners, and tourism boards
- Ability to develop strategic sales and marketing plans
- Skilled in contract negotiation and revenue optimization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with CRM and sales reporting tools
- Ability to manage budgets and monitor expenses
- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Willingness to travel and attend industry events
- Ability to balance short-term and long-term sales priorities

Job Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in professional convention center management or hospitality sales with at least 2 years in a director supervisory role
- Bachelor's Degree in public assembly facility management, hospitality management, business administration or related field
- Proven success in convention, meetings, and events sales including bidding and securing large-scale events
- Ability to lead, motivate and mentor a sales team managing performance and supporting professional development
- Strong knowledge of destination marketing, hospitality sales pipelines, and citywide booking processes
- Experience collaborating with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, hotel partners, tourism boards and hospitality stakeholders
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans with measurable objectives and KPIs
- Skilled in contract negotiation, pricing models, rate strategy and revenue optimization
- Experience developing business development strategies and managing key client relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to track performance and evaluate market conditions
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and MS Office Suite
- experience with venue management systems preferred
- Ability to manage budgets, monitor expenses and maintain fiscal discipline
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and relationship building ability

Job Duties
- Work with the General Manager to direct all sales initiatives for the Arvest Convention Center
- Oversee sales calendar reporting for all conventions, meetings, tradeshows, and event bookings
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales strategies and marketing plans to promote and sell ACC for targeted markets
- Communicate with sales leaders of OVG hospitality and key hospitality partners to align strategies and opportunities
- Supervise, advise, guide and direct the facility's short-term sales team, including performance reviews and education
- Direct, implement, and oversee sales efforts including bidding conventions, meetings, tradeshows, and events
- Develop and implement short-term sales plans and strategies, setting sales goals and evaluating progress
- Collaborate with Tulsa CVB for a consistent, unified selling approach on long-term business, including policies and rates
- Negotiate contract terms with clients subject to General Manager approval
- Prepare proposals, reevaluate rental and sponsorship values, arrange contracts and negotiate terms
- Administer booking-related issues and business policies with General Manager approval
- Represent management in developing and maintaining client relationships
- Work with event managers and planners to facilitate site visits and appointments
- Prepare annual sales and marketing plans with the General Manager
- Monitor market conditions and use strategic planning to optimize venue position against competition
- Manage short-term sales efforts to maximize venue occupancy and support quality and impact
- Administer design and production of collateral materials, including rate schedules and policies
- Update Event Planning Guides and ensure efficient info flow between facility, city, hotels, and partners
- Supervise preparation of monthly sales activity reports
- Collaborate with hospitality community and city visitors industry to enhance venue position
- Develop and update pricing and sales materials as needed
- Update General Manager and Director of Finance on significant sales activities and cancellations
- Develop and implement annual sales department expense budget and monitor monthly reports
- Manage sales activity including individual prospecting and booking goals
- Collaborate on strategy, collateral, messaging, reporting, content, and social media
- Maintain regular communication with business and social groups providing leads
- Conduct outside sales calls for potential planners
- Develop and maintain relationships within meetings, conventions, events, and tradeshow industries
- Attend sales and industry meetings and events
- Continuously streamline sales processes and business development
- Develop and maintain industry best practices, rules, policies, and procedures.
