- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 4 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
- or 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
- demonstrated skills in supervising a team
- lodging sales experience
- hotel industry work experience demonstrating progressive career growth and exceptional performance.

Job Duties
- Manages the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market
- manages the property’s reactive and proactive sales efforts
- determines and develops marketing communication activities in conjunction with Regional Marketing Communications
- provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends
- reviews the Strategic Alignment Review (STAR) report and competitive shopping reports to maintain awareness of market position
- researches competitor’s sales team strategies
- attends sales strategy meetings to provide input
- suggests innovative marketing ideas and develops deployment strategies
- evaluates and supports participation with Area Sales and Group Sales
- serves as sales contact for General Manager, property leadership, Group Sales, and Area Sales
- serves as sales contact and advocate for customers
- oversees sales processes and contracts
- liaises with various departments including Revenue Management and Event Management
- participates in sales calls to acquire and close business
- coordinates public relations activities
- supports crisis communications
- executes Marriott’s Customer Service and Brand Standards
- manages operational aspects of business booked including proposals and contracts
- practices daily brand service basics
- implements seamless turnover between sales and operations
- monitors resolution of guest issues
- increases revenues and controls expenses
- builds long-term customer relationships
- manages marketing budget
- coordinates regional and national promotion pull-through
- develops strategic partnerships with local organizations
- manages internal key stakeholder relationships
- maintains participation in local and national events
- drives customer satisfaction and loyalty
- understands customer needs and recommends services
- gains understanding of primary target customers
- coaches leaders of revenue-generating departments
