Job Requirements

  • minimum five years hotel sales experience
  • proven track record in hotel sales and marketing
  • familiarity with social media, digital media, and content management
  • college degree or equivalent work experience
  • excellent communication and writing skills
  • ability to travel overnight and work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • physical ability to perform extended walking or standing, computer work, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work extended shifts during peak periods
  • excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • experience in business travel sales
  • knowledge of hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines
  • strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • five years hotel sales experience with strong background in hotel sales
  • proficiency in social media, digital media, and content management
  • strong writing and communication skills
  • college education or equivalent work experience
  • experience with hotel openings preferred
  • strong sales and relationship management skills
  • aptitude in working with numbers and Excel spreadsheets
  • keyboarding and general office administration skills
  • current knowledge of digital marketing and social media trends
  • business travel sales experience with strong closing skills

Job Duties

  • assist with the development of the hotel marketing and sales plan based on hotel position and market segment strengths
  • represent the hotel at community, industry, and civic functions to maintain and cultivate relationships
  • lead, train, and mentor sales staff including hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • analyze competition for each market segment and direct effective marketing activities
  • identify and maintain communications with key hotel accounts
  • actively sell room nights through outside sales calls and tours
  • drive all revenue efforts to achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals
  • develop sales action plans, forecast and evaluate trends for revenue optimization
  • ensure adherence to hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines
