Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or relevant discipline desired
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a sales manager
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hotel preferably in sales or operations role
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and related software
  • Valid drivers’ license and a driving record that meets the company’s insurance requirements
  • Ability to periodically travel to other locations including overnight stays
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods while seated or standing
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to maintain flexible and extended work hours as needed by job demands and functions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan targeting corporate, group, transient, and other market segments
  • Independently evaluate business opportunities and create requests for proposal (RFP) for potential clients
  • Negotiate rates and concessions for corporate negotiated rates
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community to expand the customer base
  • Provide accurate turnover to internal stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction
  • Monitor sales goals and progress, attracting and retaining customers
  • Conduct site visits and property tours with prospective clients
  • Perform weekly sales calls in person or via phone with clients
  • Analyze competitive market trends and economic factors to identify sales opportunities
  • Utilize sales prospecting tools and enter all sales activities in software for tracking and analysis
  • Ensure booked business aligns with hotel goals and market conditions
  • Participate actively in weekly sales meetings and share insights
  • Compile and distribute weekly sales status reports to regional and hotel management
  • Navigate property management and reservation systems proficiently
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance management to sales team members
  • Collaborate with marketing and revenue management teams to align strategies
  • Work closely with other departments to enhance guest experience and revenue
  • Perform other duties as assigned
