Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years hotel sales experience
  • Strong oral and written English skills
  • Strong leadership, salesmanship, and public relations skills
  • Effective presentation, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in supervising, training, coaching, and counseling
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate work assignments
  • Capability to maintain positive team member relations
  • Capacity to develop and maintain guest relations
  • Ability to direct team performance and take corrective actions as needed
  • Willingness to work long hours, five to six days a week
  • Understanding of basic accounting procedures
  • Proficiency with computer software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance

Job Duties

  • Developing new accounts to achieve revenue goals
  • Maintaining existing accounts and implementing sales strategies
  • Directing daily activities of the sales team and assigning work
  • Creating, training, and motivating sales team members
  • Ensuring group and catering operational procedures are followed
  • Managing human resources actions according to company policies
  • Achieving or exceeding individual and team sales goals
  • Analyzing market and sales trends
  • Seeking new customers through strategic outbound sales efforts
  • Soliciting new and existing business including cold calls and hotel tours
  • Monitoring sales team performance and reporting to management
  • Collaborating with corporate Revenue Management
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with peers and competitors
  • Providing coaching and support for team members
  • Training sales team to make profitable business decisions
  • Maintaining knowledge of market trends and competition
  • Exemplifying leadership in guest hospitality
  • Executing operational aspects of booked business
  • Completing sales objectives and action plans
  • Producing regular sales reports
