Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- five or more years of progressive sales experience in hospitality
- two years supervisory or managerial experience preferred
- knowledge of Marriott service standards preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to lead and mentor team members
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- ability to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
- maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- complete required training
- problem-solving skills
- ability to handle confidential information
- must be able to work on property location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- bachelor’s degree in hospitality management desired
- five or more years of related and progressive sales experience in hospitality
- two years as a supervisor or manager in a similar setting desired
- sales experience in a Marriott hotel highly preferred
- solid knowledge of Marriott hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- ability to lead and coordinate staff in a high volume, time sensitive environment
- strong knowledge of sales techniques and ability to negotiate and close sales
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to develop and maintain effective sales processes
- working knowledge of MS Office applications
- strong attention to detail
- ability to handle multiple tasks and solve practical problems
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and governmental regulations
- ability to write reports and business correspondence
- ability to present information effectively
Job Duties
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure overall departmental success
- manage subordinate sales and marketing staff
- carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, and performance appraisal
- actively solicit new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
- research market trends and develop sales plans
- develop and implement strategies for forecasting and analyzing sales needs
- manage and evaluate financial aspects of sales efforts to ensure cost effectiveness
- support sales staff in their direct sales efforts
- participate in hiring processes and management training
- prepare annual budgets and achieve revenue goals
- ensure outstanding guest service by collaborating with other departments
- handle guest concerns promptly
- report to work as scheduled
