This job opportunity is with a hotel owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Aimbridge Hospitality. Aimbridge Hospitality is a separate company and employer from Marriott International, Inc., controlling all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, staffing, compensation, benefits, and other employment terms. Job Requirements

  • Must have valid driver's license in applicable state
  • must possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • must have professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • must show strong analytical skills and strategic vision
  • must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • must have strong organization and presentation skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience
  • highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • strong analytical skills and strategic vision
  • proficient in Microsoft Office
  • strong organization and presentation skills
  • demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and solve complex problems
  • advanced knowledge of sales, marketing and hospitality principles
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • ability to work with financial data and basic arithmetic

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue
  • develop, recommend, implement and manage the division's annual budget and advertising, public relations, marketing and sales plans
  • proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours and entertain clients
  • understand contract content and negotiate terms
  • develop and maintain market awareness and set proactive strategies
  • monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends
  • train hotel staff on sales opportunities
  • develop knowledge of hotel operations including sales, food and beverage, front office and reservations
  • maintain visibility in local community and industry organizations
  • attend and conduct meetings and training
  • maintain professional relationships with marketing partners and internal departments
  • travel weekly as required
  • act on behalf of General Manager in his/her absence
  • perform other duties as requested by management
