Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or relevant discipline desired
  • 2-5 years experience as a sales manager
  • 3-5 years experience in a hotel sales or operations role
  • outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficient in MS Office suite and related software
  • valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • ability to travel periodically including overnight stays
  • ability to work extended and flexible hours
  • ability to use computer for extended periods
  • excellent time management and organization skills
  • ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs occasionally

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan targeting corporate, group, transient, and other market segments
  • independently evaluate business and create RFPs for potential clients
  • negotiate rates and concessions for corporate negotiated rates
  • develop community relationships to expand customer base for sales opportunities
  • provide accurate turnover to internal stakeholders for client execution
  • account for sales goals and monitor progress
  • conduct site visits and property tours with prospective clients
  • conduct weekly sales calls in person and via phone
  • analyze market conditions and competitive set hotels
  • use sales prospecting tools proactively and record activities accurately
  • ensure business booked aligns with hotel goals and market conditions
  • attend and contribute during weekly sales meetings
  • compile weekly sales status reports for management
  • maneuver through property management and reservation systems
  • provide guidance and training to sales team members
  • handle recruitment, selection, and performance management of sales team
  • collaborate with marketing team on campaigns
  • collaborate with revenue management to strategize sales
  • work with other departments to ensure cohesive guest experience
  • perform other duties as assigned
