Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or relevant discipline desired
  • 2-5 years of experience as a sales manager
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hotel preferably in sales or operations role
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and related software
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the company’s insurance requirements

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan targeting corporate, group, transient, and other potential market segments
  • Evaluate business leads and create proposals and requests for proposal (RFPs)
  • Negotiate rates and concessions for corporate negotiated rates
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community to expand the customer base
  • Provide accurate and complete turnover information to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor sales goals and progress toward achieving them
  • Conduct site visits and property tours with prospective clients
  • Conduct weekly sales calls in person or via phone with clients
  • Analyze overall market, competitor strengths, and economic trends to inform sales strategies
  • Use sales prospecting tools proactively and maintain accurate records of sales activities
  • Close the best opportunities based on market conditions and property needs
  • Attend and contribute during weekly sales meetings
  • Compile and distribute weekly sales status reports to key management
  • Navigate property management and reservation systems proficiently
  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to sales team members
  • Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns
  • Work closely with revenue management to deploy sales strategies
  • Coordinate with other departments to enhance guest experience and revenue
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
