Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or relevant discipline desired
  • 2-5 years experience as a sales manager
  • 3-5 years experience in hotel sales or operations
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and related software
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel periodically including overnight stays
  • Ability to use computer for extended periods
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours when needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a sales manager
  • Familiarity with hotel sales or operations roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and related sales software
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Networking skills within the local community

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans
  • Evaluate business and create requests for proposal (RFP) for potential clients
  • Negotiate corporate rates and concessions
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community
  • Provide turnover to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor and achieve sales goals
  • Conduct site visits and property tours with prospective clients
  • Conduct weekly sales calls with local and remote clients
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity
  • Use sales prospecting tools and record activities in software
  • Ensure business booked aligns with hotel goals
  • Participate and contribute in weekly sales meetings
  • Compile and distribute weekly sales reports
  • Navigate property management and reservation systems
  • Provide guidance and training to sales team members
  • Recruit and manage performance of sales team
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns
  • Work with revenue management on sales strategies
  • Coordinate with other departments to enhance guest experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned
