Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Four to six years of experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services
- Minimum four years in a room division management role
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Supervisory and leadership ability
- Basic computer proficiency
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Ability to handle complex problem solving and decision making
- Ability to maintain punctual and consistent attendance
- Compliance with company policies and regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Four to six years experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services
- At least four years in room division management roles such as Front Office Manager or Director of Housekeeping
- Strong supervisory and management skills
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills and budgetary analysis capabilities
- Advanced knowledge of rooms division principles and hospitality management
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws governing employment and labor relations
- Ability to negotiate and influence others
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex information to develop new approaches
- Ability to make decisions with limited guidance
Job Duties
- Manage the human resources in the rooms division to attract, retain and motivate the employees
- Hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, discipline, and terminate as appropriate
- Implement company programs and manage operations consistent with laws, brand standards and company policies to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
- Resolve customer complaints to maintain high satisfaction and quality
- Establish and implement procedures to ensure prompt, professional attention and personal recognition for guests
- Assist in managing hotel revenue through utilization of company systems and business processes
- Review and approve or deny discount and rebate requests
- Conduct routine inspections of front office public areas, guest rooms and corridors
- Develop and implement action plans for deficiencies
- Analyze guest satisfaction data and implement plans to meet goals
- Achieve budgeted revenues, control labor and expenses to maximize profitability
- Participate in budget and financial planning
- Prepare and submit statistical, performance, and forecast reports
- Maintain procedures for security of monies, credit, financial transactions, guest security, and inventory control
- Authorize requisitions for business supplies
- Communicate information related to VIP and special guest needs
- Ensure training and procedures for PBX during emergencies
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination
- Serve as manager on duty as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
