Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree in related field
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or event management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and financial data
- Knowledge of customer service and quality standards
- Understanding of food handling, sanitation, and liquor laws
- Ability to work full time on-site at Rotary House Hotel in Houston Texas
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in food and beverage or related fields
- or 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with 4 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of customer and personal service principles
- Knowledge of economics and accounting principles and practices
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of management of financial resources
- Business and management principles including strategic planning and resource allocation
- Understanding of food production, presentation, and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage material resources effectively
Job Duties
- Manage all restaurant operations and staff daily
- Direct food and beverage and culinary management teams
- Estimate food, liquor, wine, and beverage consumption for purchasing
- Facilitate pre-meal briefings to educate staff on menu items
- Maintain service and sanitation standards across outlets
- Order and purchase equipment and supplies
- Oversee booking and service of restaurant parties, events, and room service hospitality suites
- Manage departmental controllable expenses to meet budget goals
- Establish operational and performance goals
- Lead and motivate team members fostering respect and cooperation
- Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors and excellent customer service
- Coach and mentor employees to improve skills and knowledge
- Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, and liquor laws
- Handle guest feedback and complaints effectively
- Administer performance appraisals and provide feedback
- Interview and hire staff with appropriate skills
- Communicate relevant information to executives, peers, and subordinates in a timely manner
