Job Requirements

  • flexible and long hours sometimes required, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • medium work - exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time
  • must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed
  • must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100 degrees f
  • physical exertion (jogging, running, bending, twisting)

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years as head racquet sport professional or director of racquet sports or equivalent
  • extensive private club experience preferred
  • experience in creating engaging tennis and pickleball activities for guests and members
  • cpr and first aid certifications required
  • teaching certification (usp tr, ptr, or equivalent) preferred
  • proven experience managing payroll, budgets, and revenue targets
  • strong knowledge of tennis and pickleball programming

Job Duties

  • adhere to the company's service culture - 4 keys to creating guests for life
  • align with peregrine hospitality tbo strategy and focus on recruiting and retaining top talent
  • participate in all resort required meetings and trainings
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag
  • ensure proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in safe working order
  • recruit, train, schedule, and develop teaching professionals, attendants and seasonal staff
  • maintain compliance with resort policies, standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the resort
  • abide by all resort policies and safety rules
  • perform other duties as requested by management
  • design and execute a comprehensive calendar of racquet sports events
  • promote tennis and pickleball clinics, private lessons, adult, junior and senior programs
  • manage usta leagues and local team tennis and pickleball activities
  • organize tournaments such as club championships, invitationals, charity and seasonal events
  • manage pickleball and tennis round robins, ladders, and social play
  • collaborate with sales and events teams to support group stays, retreats and buyouts
  • innovate new racquet sports offerings to drive participation and retention across all skill levels
  • manage payroll and labor related to racquet sports staff
  • monitor lesson revenue and program profitability
  • establish and monitor key performance indicators (kpi's)
  • forecast, budget and create strategic growth plans for racquet sports
  • maximize revenue through private lessons, clinics, camps, leagues and special events
  • serve as a visible, engaged leader for the racquet community
  • foster strong relationships with members, guests and league participants
  • address feedback and resolve concerns professionally and proactively
  • partner with membership and marketing teams on communication, promotion and engagement strategies
  • ensure compliance with usta regulations and club policies
  • oversee court reservations, lesson scheduling systems, and pos reporting
  • maintain accurate records, waivers, certifications and staff credentials
