Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources Management desired
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred
  • minimum five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience
  • at least three years in a Director-level role
  • extensive experience with Worker’s Compensation
  • experience in hospitality or similar environment
  • strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • ability to manage staff in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • knowledge of wage, salary, employment, benefits administration, and payroll
  • excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources Management desired
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred
  • five or more years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience
  • at least three years at a Director level
  • hands-on experience handling all facets of Worker’s Compensation
  • experience in a similar hospitality setting
  • strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • ability to lead a high volume, time-sensitive environment
  • thorough knowledge of employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, ERISA, and NLRA
  • working knowledge of wage and salary, employment and benefits administration, and payroll
  • excellent employee relations skills

Job Duties

  • Plan People & Culture departmental goals
  • provide guidance and direction to ensure overall departmental success and financial profitability
  • manage interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members
  • handle employee performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
  • manage full cycle recruitment and onboarding processes ensuring legal compliance
  • oversee administration of benefit plans and enrollment processes
  • provide expertise on human resource policies and legal compliance
  • facilitate orientation and training programs
  • maintain effective communication channels throughout the property
  • guide managers in progressive discipline and performance management
  • oversee compliance with employment and civil rights laws
  • manage Worker Compensation claims and safety training
  • guide managers on merit decisions, promotions, and reclassifications
  • identify and implement business process improvements
  • adapt scheduling to business needs due to the hospitality industry’s cyclical nature
