Job Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited college/university
  • 5-7+ years experience in full-time facility operations management in the public assembly industry including stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers
  • experience supervising operations crews and support personnel
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance including OSHA
  • ability to manage budgets and control expenditures
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • capacity to handle physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to multi-task under pressure and maintain attention to detail
  • strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • English fluency

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of physical plant management
  • supervisory skills and experience in work crew supervision in facility operations
  • experience in a public facility preferred
  • knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of public facility maintenance programs
  • knowledge of building construction, mechanical equipment repair, and grounds maintenance
  • knowledge of principles and practices of budget preparation and control
  • knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • basic knowledge of boilers, chillers, refrigeration, and ice making
  • basic knowledge of fire alarm and fire protection systems
  • knowledge of event presentation and production needs
  • knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • experience with facility operations including drayage, decorators, maintenance, housekeeping, trades, waste disposal, electrical, and equipment
  • advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • ability to supervise the work of others
  • ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, management, and guests
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • ability to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Job Duties

  • Oversees daily operations and maintenance of facilities, infrastructure, and all systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen equipment, fire protection, life safety, workplace safety, communications, pest control, custodial services, elevators, and escalators
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, coworkers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • participate in development and administration of operations and capital budgets, forecast staffing and equipment needs, monitor expenditures and implement adjustments
  • oversee advancing and communication of event information to appropriate departments
  • plan, direct, coordinate, and review work plans for facility maintenance and operations
  • manage event set-up and tear-down including stage risers, floor coverings, pipe and drape, bleachers, signs, chairs, and tables
  • direct and monitor contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects, maintenance, and services
  • act as liaison with the City of Tulsa for code compliance, building safety, permits, inspections, and warranties
  • select, train, motivate and evaluate staff, coordinate training, implement discipline and termination procedures
  • order supplies and materials within budget
  • verify processing of employee time sheets and expenses
  • develop and maintain capital improvement project reports
  • attend internal and external meetings representing operations department
  • develop and implement standard operating procedures including preventive maintenance
  • organize training and safety programs
  • prepare and present staff reports and correspondence
  • maintain health and safety compliance with OSHA regulations
  • maintain hazardous materials communication program and update management reports and manuals
  • continuously improve operations to provide quality seamless customer service
  • conduct organizational and operational studies and recommend program modifications
  • establish and maintain relationships with staff, contractors, stakeholders, and users
  • perform other duties as assigned by General Manager or Vice President
