Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years experience in outbound transportation
  • Knowledge of Federal Department of Transportation regulations
  • Familiarity with mainframe computer software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence
  • Physical fitness to perform job activities
  • Proficient in English language
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and enforce company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in outbound transportation, preferably in the food service industry
  • Knowledge of mainframe computer software like AS 400, Excel, Microsoft Word, Access
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and memos
  • Two to three years of accounting, planning, analytical, or reporting experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Understanding of financial statements and cost implications
  • Knowledge of distribution systems including order routing
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Physical ability to ascend and descend stairs and climb in and out of trucks
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and comprehension

Job Duties

  • Report any accidents/unsafe conditions to the Senior Transportation Manager and Safety Manager
  • Responsible for compliance and knowledge with Federal Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standards
  • Maintain fleet in a safe manner in accordance with company and governmental standards
  • Keep all mistakes and waste to a minimum and check to make sure that routes are properly set up
  • Maintain effective and timely scheduling of Transportation Teammates with schedules posted weekly
  • Facilitate communication within management team and between the Teammates and management
  • Provide training to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable workforce
  • Enforce company policies and administer coaching/disciplinary documentation
  • Manage productivity data including unload rates, routes, stops, and pieces
  • Assist Senior Transportation Manager with research and development of new techniques to increase operational efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
