Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in horticulture or nursery production
  • Experience with environmental controls and irrigation systems
  • Ability to walk and inspect nursery areas regularly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and challenges
  • Bilingualism is a plus

Job Duties

  • Daily involvement in labor allocation with production manager and division leads
  • Involvement with environmental controls
  • Conduct walk-throughs of nursery sections on a rotating schedule to monitor production notes and meet with production and inventory teams
  • Collaborate with Crop Health Manager on crop health issues, treatments, control measures, and fertilizer use
  • Lead production improvements focusing on cultural practices, efficiency, and reducing losses in high-loss varieties
  • Work on irrigation system improvements, watering techniques, and training
  • Assist in developing classifications by type for production grouping based on irrigation and cultural needs
  • Participate in product pricing and present production costs
  • Manage purchasing of pots and plastics inventory with Soils department
  • Oversee label ordering process
  • Engage in seasonal pumpkin planning
