Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous Director of Rooms, Director of Operations and/or Assistant General Manager experience in a hotel environment
  • Direct experience in multiple hotel operational departments including Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention and/or Engineering and/or Food and Beverage
  • Proven ability to design and implement high guest and employee satisfaction service standards and procedures
  • Experience managing third party or leased space arrangements such as food and beverage, valet or security
  • Strong financial skills with ability to partner with departments to drive revenue and manage expenses
  • Proven professional and tactful communication skills with guests and employees
  • Must obtain Fire Safety Director license within 6-9 months after employment commences

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as Director of Rooms, Director of Operations or Assistant General Manager in a hotel environment
  • Intensive operational experience in Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering and/or Food and Beverage
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing service standards and procedures resulting in high guest and employee satisfaction
  • Experience managing third party or leased space arrangements such as food and beverage, valet or security
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to collaborate across departments to drive revenue and control expenses
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure
  • Skilled negotiator creating win-win outcomes
  • Proactive self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations
  • Display honesty and integrity
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings
  • Communicate effectively to staff using development reviews, training, departmental orientation and monthly departmental meetings
  • Motivate and develop team members
  • Create preventive maintenance programs for consistency of the product
  • Ensure updated safe work environment
  • Oversee and direct daily operations for Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Security departments
  • Coordinate daily with Food and Beverage Managers to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Direct, implement and maintain a service and management philosophy serving as a departmental standard
  • Design and implement training to exceed operational standards
  • Develop and implement strategies with General Manager to maximize revenue and manage costs
  • Assist General Manager in budget development and maintenance
  • Develop performance of departmental managers and supervisors
  • Lead and maintain Arlo team member culture through engagement and training
  • Assist in Safety Committee initiatives and Security provisions
  • Protect and enhance hotel assets through maintenance, security and housekeeping programs and capital budgeting process
