Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a renowned nonprofit public aquarium located in Draper, Utah, dedicated to inspiring people of all ages to explore, discover, and learn about Earth's diverse ecosystems. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in operations, facilities, or capital project management
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor or partner relationships
  • Proven leadership in mission-driven or public attraction environments
  • Ability to lead diverse teams under pressure
  • Knowledge of capital project management and facility operations
  • Excellent financial and strategic planning skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Commitment to mission and sustainability
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, facilities, or capital project management
  • Experience managing budgets and complex vendor or partner relationships
  • Experience in operational oversight within a nonprofit or public attraction environment preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex operational and facilities functions in mission-driven or public attraction settings
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams under deadline and guest service pressures
  • Strong knowledge of capital project management, facility operations, and vendor relationship management
  • Excellent financial management, strategic planning, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to LLPA’s mission and values focused on guest experience, sustainability, and operational excellence

Job Duties

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for LLPA’s operations, ensuring alignment with mission and guest experience goals
  • Oversee daily operations of facilities maintenance and events, ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accountability and continuous improvement
  • Establish key performance indicators and measure organizational outcomes
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure cohesive communication and execution of priorities
  • Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of capital improvement and major renovation projects
  • Manage partnerships with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project quality and alignment
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs and manage service contracts for landscaping, janitorial, and pest control
  • Provide leadership and direction to Events team to deliver exceptional private, corporate, and community events
  • Serve as primary liaison with café and catering, retail, and daycare partners, managing contract performance and collaboration
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across operational departments
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Represent LLPA professionally with contractors, vendors, and community partners
