Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years relevant experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related field
  • OR Two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related
  • Two years relevant experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Budget management experience
  • Vendor management skills
  • Ability to work on-site full time at The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and four years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related
  • OR Two-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related and two years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and increase revenues
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Knowledge of brand standards in luxury hospitality
  • Ability to lead and develop teams
  • Proficiency in event planning and execution

Job Duties

  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Review scheduled events and trouble shoot potential challenges or conflicts with direct reports
  • Ensure property is apprised of all groups impacting operations
  • Maintain meeting spaces and heart of the house areas clean and maintained
  • Maintain furniture, equipment, and inventory according to corporate guidelines
  • Lead execution of brand service initiatives in event management
  • Develop and execute event management strategy aligned with company business strategy
  • Conduct daily banquet floor walk-throughs for client satisfaction and quality assurance
  • Hold event management team accountable for desired service behaviors
  • Communicate clear, consistent departmental goals to produce results
  • Ensure implementation of brand and regional business initiatives with necessary follow-up
  • Encourage calculated risk-taking to generate incremental revenue
  • Develop vendor relationships with pricing and service agreements
  • Create and achieve annual banquet budget
  • Support execution of annual Meetings & Special Events Marketing Plan and post-contractual upselling
  • Create atmosphere meeting or exceeding guest expectations
  • Consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, health and safety regulations working with Human Resources
  • Review event operations annually and make adjustments
  • Assess staffing levels to meet guest service and operational needs
  • Communicate and execute emergency procedures
  • Maintain ongoing communication in all event operations areas
