Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational and work experience
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, public relations, or related field
  • Proven skills in audience development and market segmentation
  • Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Proficiency with graphic design and web management
  • Skilled in using Adobe Creative Suites and content management systems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing abilities
  • Ability to work in hybrid environments
  • Capacity to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, public relations, or related field
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent educational and work experience
  • Proven experience in audience development, market segmentation, and data-driven marketing strategy
  • Experience managing campaigns across multiple channels including digital, paid media, earned media, and community partnerships
  • Graphic design, social media, and web management skills
  • Experience developing content using Adobe Creative Suites, Wordpress or other content management systems, PowerPoint, Mailchimp or similar platforms such as Constant Contact
  • Discipline and organizational ability to work in a hybrid environment both from a home-based office and on-site
  • Exceptional leadership, project management, and time management skills
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with the ability to adapt voice for multiple platforms
  • Ability to interface with the public and connect with people from diverse backgrounds

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement integrated organization-wide marketing and communications strategy that builds visibility, strengthens reputation, and drives audience engagement
  • Identify and engage priority audiences through market research, segmentation, and analytics
  • Define and maintain organizational voice across all channels, ensuring messaging reflects mission, values, and equity commitments
  • Lead marketing campaigns including digital, paid, earned media, partnerships, and promotions to expand presence in the arts ecosystem
  • Increase and maximize storytelling opportunities to highlight impact including grantmaking programs and The Center
  • Cultivate and manage press relationships and prepare leadership and board members for media opportunities and thought leadership positioning
  • Supervise and mentor Social Media Manager, Assistant Editor, and Associate Producer fostering team cohesion and professional growth
  • Oversee creation and distribution of print, digital, and multimedia content ensuring brand consistency and integration with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with Advancement to integrate fundraising needs and messages into marketing campaigns and donor-facing communications
  • Coordinate with Programs and Operations to align communications strategies with organizational priorities and events
  • Manage outside consultants and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
  • Develop and maintain the organization-wide communications calendar ensuring consistency and collaboration across departments
  • Build dashboards and reporting systems to track communications outcomes and regularly brief leadership with measurable results and recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee and track the annual marketing and communications budget
