Job Requirements

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent preferred
  • Two or more years in a related hospitality position
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Knowledge of housekeeping, hotel policies, loss prevention and safety standards
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff effectively
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle financial information and perform basic arithmetic
  • High typing speed and data entry skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be service oriented and able to communicate well
  • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail
  • Must be energetic, outgoing and team oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Proficient in web analytics tools preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of housekeeping field
  • Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
  • Strong supervision and management skills
  • Ability to compile facts and figures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with basic financial information and perform arithmetic
  • Typing speed of at least 45 wpm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Opera preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Energetic and outgoing personality
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Team player capable of working under minimal supervision
  • Service oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management and coworkers
  • Ability to read, write and understand English

Job Duties

  • Supervise housekeeping employees to attract, retain and motivate them while providing a safe work environment
  • Interview, schedule, train, develop, empower and coach staff
  • Recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews and recommend discipline and termination as appropriate
  • Supervise and inspect daily cleaning of guest rooms, public areas and back of the house
  • Ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, LSOPs, SOPs and health/sanitation standards
  • Monitor and report on payroll and supply expenses to control costs
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure satisfaction
  • Refer and follow up on maintenance issues with Engineering to protect assets and maintain safe environment
  • Log items into Lost and Found and answer inquiries
  • Implement emergency training and procedures to protect guests, staff and assets
