Job Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 4 years experience
  • or 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience
  • demonstrated skills in supervising a team
  • lodging sales experience
  • hotel industry work experience demonstrating progressive career growth and exceptional performance

Job Duties

  • Executes the sales strategy and verifies that individual booking goals are met for both on-property staff and off-property sales channels
  • partners with Area Sales and Group Sales within the Sales Office to establish successful account deployment and execution
  • serves as the sales contact for the General Manager, property leadership team, Global Sales Office (GSO), Group Sales, Area Sales and Catering Sales leaders
  • serves as the sales contact for customers
  • serves as the customer advocate
  • provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends to adjust sales strategies
  • researches competitor’s sales team strategies to grow occupancy and RevPAR
  • participates in business planning with Regional Marketing & eCommerce team
  • develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships
  • coaches leaders of revenue generating departments
  • provides day to day leadership to on-property sales associates and coordinates above-property sales channels
  • participates in sales calls to acquire new business and close on business
  • supports General Manager by coordinating crisis communications
  • maintains successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses, and providing ROI
  • develops strategic working relationships with sales channel leaders
  • executes and supports Marriott’s customer service and brand standards
  • performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
