The Apex Park and Recreation District is a well-established public organization serving a vibrant metropolitan community of approximately 140,000 residents. The District manages a variety of recreational facilities and programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Seven years of related experience including minimum three years as a Class A PGA member
- Three to five years as a golf operations manager or assistant operations manager
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
- Ability to operate motor vehicles
- Ability to lift 30 pounds carry 20 pounds stoop kneel and reach
- Ability to travel lightly throughout the district
Job Qualifications
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf rules of golf golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Fundamental supervisory practices and principles strong organizational planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market service and customer-focused attitude
- Remain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
- Utilize resources of PGA of America player development programs such as Drive Pitch and Putt Youth on Course PGA Junior Leagues and PGA Inclusion Club
- Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
- Ability to organize and plan work and analyze situations
- Excellent written and oral business communication skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel proficient in other applications POS Reservation system email internet and tournament database
- Maintain a PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
Job Duties
- Plan administer and maintain the Indian Tree Golf Course including golf operations restaurant meeting and banquet rooms and maintenance
- Develop and coordinate long-range and annual business plans for operating and capital budgets
- Analyze and monitor monthly financial statements income and expenses
- Assure operational compliance with local state and federal laws
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with all district lease terms and contractual obligations
- Monitor compliance with all Apex Park and Recreation District purchasing policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a sound organizational structure
- Oversee the development of operating procedures and training manuals
- Develop emergency safety and first aid procedures
- Oversee department heads that schedule supervise and direct the work of facility staff
- Attend district committee board management and staff meetings as requested
- Recruit hire train motivate supervise and evaluate all golf department staff
- Develop and implement operational policies programs and procedures per the district's mission
- Monitor daily operations functions and services including tracking rounds fees and trends
- Assure high customer satisfaction standards ensure open communication and high customer visibility
- Provide proper hiring training supervising personal development and corrective action by fair labor standards and safety
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure daily accounting inventories banking audit procedures cash flow and controls
- Serve as a member of appropriate golf committees
- Oversee care and maintenance of all physical assets and facilities
- Coordinate marketing and promotional programs to promote facility services and amenities
- Oversee and maintain a profitable retail merchandise concession including planning purchasing inventory tracking and diversity record keeping policy development customer experience and POS system management
- Monitor daily reservation system pace of play recordkeeping and fleet management of carts and maintenance vehicles
- Develop and manage innovative tournament programs group outings and leagues that service all customer segments
- Oversee operations of a well-managed practice facility driving range par three course and 18-hole championship course
- Develop maintain update and utilize customer database
- Manage golf instruction program including lessons in individual and group clinics
- Ensure professional instructors are available
- Develop and oversee player development programs for diverse populations including women families seniors and juniors
- Utilize player development resources of PGA programs
- Supervise golf course superintendent two food and beverage managers and manager of golf
