Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, food services technology/management, hospitality, nutrition and dietetics, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of progressively responsible related experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience in culinary/kitchen management
  • Experience in high volume, multi-site, complex foodservice operations
  • ServSafe Manager certification required

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, Hospitality, Nutrition and Dietetics, or related field
  • Postgraduate degree strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of progressively responsible related experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience in culinary/kitchen management
  • Experience in healthcare and/or higher education preferred
  • Experience in high volume, multi-site, complex foodservice operations
  • ServSafe Manager certification required

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and overall planning, direction, and control of the Food Services Department
  • Ensure compliance with standards established by accrediting organizations including Department of Health, CMS, and COMAR regulations
  • Oversight of budget development and financial management of the department
  • Implement recruitment strategies and provide orientation, guidance, and development opportunities for staff
  • Lead training and succession planning for food and culinary professionals
  • Develop and modify standardized menus and recipes in collaboration with leadership
  • Support and maintain JHHS electronic food service systems
  • Drive patient satisfaction and experience outcomes
  • Support sustainability initiatives through composting, paper goods selection, and local vendor engagement
  • Ensure compliance with negotiated food contracts in conjunction with Corporate Purchasing
