Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree in hotel management, hospitality management, culinary or related area or equivalent experience
- minimum 5 years of responsible management experience in food and beverage or restaurant and bar management
- experience in concept development and project management
- proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and portfolios
- knowledge of luxury, premium and select brands in hospitality
- experience with hotel, restaurant and bar openings preferred
- strong communication and presentation skills
- ability to read and interpret blueprints
- knowledge of food and beverage operational processes and procedures
- project management skills
- bilingual in English and Spanish
- willingness to travel up to 35 percent of the time within the CALA region
Job Qualifications
- 5 plus years progressively responsible work experience including management experience in restaurant and bar management or food and beverage
- experience in restaurant and bar concept development with a proven ability to drive product creativity and innovation
- experience in project management managing complex projects or portfolios
- proven experience understanding multiple brands including luxury, premium, and select service
- proven expertise in direct openings of hotels, restaurants and bars preferred
- active participation in industry organizations is preferred
- independent or non-hotel food and beverage experience design development is encouraged
- bachelor's degree in hotel management, hospitality management, culinary, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- in-depth knowledge of food and beverage discipline, processes, and systems
- preferred operational background in food and beverage
- understanding of food and beverage trends and ability to integrate them into design
- knowledge of graphics and industry packages preferred
- successful record of food and beverage concept development and implementation
- ability to read and interpret blueprints for plan reviews, kitchen and bar design
- ability to identify operational efficiencies and potential cost savings
- excellent project and change management skills
- strong influence, negotiation, conflict management, time management, and consensus building skills
- exceptional verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills
- ability to train on innovative programs, products and services
- thorough understanding of lodging business and market drivers
- knowledge of workforce analysis and labor productivity
- previous luxury experience preferred
- previous hotel opening experience preferred
- bilingual in English and Spanish
Job Duties
- lead the development of creative and relevant food and beverage restaurant and bar concepts
- drive select service food and beverage positioning and programming
- design next generation meeting spaces tailored to modern meeting attendees
- act as a brand advocate partnering with brand teams to ensure alignment and relevance
- monitor and incorporate food and beverage trends into design and development
- articulate food and beverage strategies to owners and asset managers with compelling presentations
- foster partnerships with property ownership, food and beverage consultants, and third party operators
- collaborate with procurement to develop and maintain food and beverage operating supplies and equipment standards
- develop and document sustainable processes for food and beverage components during hotel openings
- manage design and development processes for new build and renovation food and beverage projects
- identify and promote a portfolio of restaurant and food and beverage designers and consultants in the CALA region
- inject innovation into food and beverage projects to keep offerings fresh and competitive
- travel up to 35 percent of time within the region to oversee projects and partnerships
