Job Requirements

  • High school education required
  • Minimum six years management experience in food and beverage within hospitality industry
  • Must have current food handler's card and alcohol service certifications
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand long periods, lift up to 25 pounds and perform required physical activities
  • Capable of working in stressful situations and handling cleaning chemicals
  • Must adhere to company appearance and uniform standards

Job Qualifications

  • Current food handler's card and alcohol service certifications as required by federal, state, or local laws
  • Minimum six years management experience in the hospitality industry focused on food and beverage guest service
  • High school education required
  • Some college education preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills
  • Proven track record of increasing responsibility in food and beverage management
  • Experience in staff training and development
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food service regulations

Job Duties

  • Manage service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events
  • Manage dining rooms, lounges, bars and catering events to ensure proper room preparation including set-up of tables, chairs, linens, table settings, glassware
  • Confirm all service staff are in proper uniform and adhere to the company's appearance standards
  • Hire, manage and train staff in all technical and non-technical aspects of their roles
  • Create, maintain and distribute weekly schedules for staff and communicate changes appropriately
  • Communicate with service and kitchen staff regarding reservations and special events
  • Conduct pre-shift, pre-meal and pre-event meetings with necessary staff
  • Evaluate and supervise performance and carry out disciplinary actions as needed
  • Make rounds of all food and beverage outlets to ensure guest needs are met
  • Handle employee relation issues and collaborate with General Manager and Human Resources
  • Complete and administer employee performance appraisals
  • Conduct monthly beverage inventories and quarterly china, glass and silverware inventories
  • Open and close dining rooms and bars regularly
  • Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled
  • Control costs of food and beverage outlets including purchasing and monitoring labor costs
  • Maintain accurate punch details and process sales reports
  • Maximize sales through marketing, promotions and staff training on up-selling
  • Ensure staff adhere to safety, sanitation, food preparation, storage and alcohol control policies
  • Maintain guest satisfaction by addressing inquiries, concerns, and comments
  • Maintain service consistency and prepare for all course events, large parties and reservations
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef on menu creation and pricing
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to ensure appropriate staffing for events
  • Uphold company and brand standards, policies and procedures
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Ensure in-room dining and tray removal services are within guidelines
  • Ensure reservation systems function efficiently
  • Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager or Corporate Director of Food and Beverage
