Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism management or related discipline
  • Minimum five years experience in food and beverage within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment
  • Senior leadership experience at Forbes Four or Five Star rated hotels
  • Ability to establish and maintain high guest service standards per Forbes
  • Knowledgeable about food and beverage operational metrics
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience with financial management and budgeting for food and beverage division
  • Proficiency in food and beverage management software systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Leadership ability to coach and develop staff effectively
  • Resort experience is preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism management or related field preferred
  • Five plus years of food and beverage experience in a luxury or lifestyle hotel
  • Senior leadership experience in Forbes Four or Five Star properties
  • Ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences based on Forbes Service Standards
  • Proven track record of driving positive guest experience and meeting service metrics
  • Resort experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of food and beverage operations
  • Proficiency with cost control metrics including cost per cover and food and liquor costs
  • Excellent financial acumen with ability to develop department heads
  • Experienced with food and beverage management systems such as Medallia, POS, Envision, Birchstreet, and Micros
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proven leadership in accountability and recognition
  • Strong leadership focused on building guest relationships

Job Duties

  • Develops a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with business goals
  • Ensures ongoing communication in all food and beverage areas
  • Collaborates with direct reports to review business levels and resolve challenges
  • Reviews schedules to meet guest service and operational needs
  • Holds leadership accountable for financial profitability and service behaviors
  • Provides feedback on service behaviors per Forbes Standards
  • Forecasts consumption to maximize profitability
  • Oversees purchasing plans for operational supplies
  • Reviews financial reports and adjusts to maximize profitability
  • Encourages calculated risk-taking to generate revenue
  • Creates a guest-centered atmosphere exceeding expectations
  • Manages departmental expenses to meet budget goals
  • Understands impact of food and beverage operations on property finances
  • Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the division
  • Oversees colleague engagement, development, coaching, and hiring
  • Ensures accountability and service standards through coaching
  • Manages opening and closing procedures consistency
  • Handles vendor contracts and relationships
  • Maintains food and beverage division checkbook for profitability
